This 9 Days Rwanda – Uganda safari holiday involves seeing the best that Uganda and Rwanda have to offer. The tour starts in Rwanda and involves visiting Bwindi Forest to trek the Gorillas. The tour also includes the Community tours of the Batwa pygmies, Lake Bunyonyi visit and Wildlife safaris in the Akagera National Park. You will be on a private tour, using your private safari jeep.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, our Dedicated team of Hermosa Life Tours and Travel will be at the Kigali International airport for the meet and greet assistance, clear with customs, brief you about the tour before beginning the long drive to Uganda side, cross via Cyanika border. Alternatively, if you are already in Kigali, you will be picked up early and start with the drive. The journey takes about -/+ 4 hours and you need to set off early in order to reach in time to rest before the next day’s activities. The journey is a bit long but very eventful as you will get to see the beautiful countryside and landscapes of both Uganda and Rwanda. Lunch will be taken along the way. Arrival with check in and relaxation enjoying lodge /hotel amenities. Later, head out for a visit to the Batwa pygmy community. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi impenetrable forest but were driven away from the park to allow for mountain gorilla conservation. While with them, you learn about the difficulties they face adapting to a new world. The Batwa will entertain you with songs, their ways of life, dance and storytelling. Retire and return to the lodge. In the evening, relax at leisure using your lodge amenities and the Bwindi breeze. Dinner and rest.

Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda wildlife officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla trekking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. After this gorilla trekking experience in Uganda, you will have informative memorable experience in life. Return to the lodge /hotel for lunch and the rest of the day spend it with relaxation. Wake up to have breakfast at your own time and get ready to be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is a famous spot for birding tours in Uganda and sightseeing. It is a small lake with over 40 islands and is ideal for honeymooners and those who want a quiet, serene and romantic place. You will go for a canoe ride and island hopping as you watch the local fishermen carrying out their activities. You could also visit the punishment island. This is where young girls who had conceived before wedlock were abandoned to die. Most were rescued by men who couldn’t afford bride price. Other optional activities nearby the lake include swimming, nature walks, cultural visits and simple relaxation. Evening at leisure. Dinner and rest.

You will wake up to a beautiful breakfast and be ready to experience the Lake views for the last time. Later, head out for a drive, check out and you will be transferred back to Rwanda. Prepare for a long scenic drive back to Rwanda with the beautiful country sides, great hills and valleys plus many locals along the way on their daily activities. Cross via Cyanika border have your lunch along the way and continue to Kigali city. Check in to your hotel and relax using Hotel amenities. Dinner and rest.

After having your breakfast at the hotel, start off with a city tour, visit the Genocide Memorial Center. Also visit The Campaign Against Genocide Museum is one of the eight museums managed by the Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy. It is housed in the Parliamentary building of Rwanda. Have your lunch in a nice restaurant of your choice in the city. Visit the Rwanda art Museum and local markets in Kimironko. Retire and return to your hotel, relax with hotel amenities. After having your breakfast at the hotel, check out and embark on a drive to transfer to Akagera National Park Home of Big 5- Game Drive. On the way enjoy Landscapes and the hills of Rwanda, en route game drive, expect to see some animals such as elephants, Giraffes, lions, great plains and landscape views as you drive to the lodge / camp, check in with lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure plus enjoying lodge amenities. Evening embarks on the Night game drive where you are rewarded with several wildlife in a calm nature. This evening you have a chance to see nocturnal wildlife species that are not easy to see during day time. Enjoy the drives. Later retire and drive back to the lodge dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Ruzizi Tented Lodge (Meal plan: Dinner, Lunch, Bed and breakfast).
Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After your breakfast, have your packed lunch boxes. You will visit the Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, Lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope and many more. Have a stopover for packed lunch at the picnic area. Continue with a boat cruise where you are rewarded with sunset views, several hippos and bird species on Lake Ihema. Retire and drive straight back to Kigali. Arrival at the hotel, relax with dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge (Meal plan: Dinner, Lunch, Bed and breakfast).
After your breakfast, head out for yet another drive around the park. Enjoy more of the wildlife sightings. Return to the hotel for lunch and the rest of the day relax using hotel amenities. Have a swim or use any relaxing items around the lodge. Evening at leisure. Dinner and rest.

Wake up to a relaxed breakfast. Have your last drives around the park, today you have an opportunity to view what you may have missed the previous days. Check out with a drive back to Kigali, arrival with en route last – minute souvenir shopping, then drive to Kigali international Airport for your outbound flight back home.
