This trip takes you around to experience Rwanda’s wildlife safaris and the boat cruise experiences of Akagera National Park, you will go to Volcanoes National Park and have yourself a lifetime experience of trekking the Mountain gorillas and the famous Golden monkeys plus Cultural experiences on this 6 days’ trip. This is a private trip. You will be using your own private 4×4 jeep land cruiser.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be met with a warm welcome by our company representative as our professional guide driver will be at the airport ahead of time waiting for you. Exchange some money in local currency then drive to the hotel for an overnight stay. Transfer to the Kigali hotel. Enjoy hotel amenities. Dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Hôtel Des Mille Collines (Meal plan: Bed and breakfast).
Our safari driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast. We then transfer to the park on the 2.5-hour journey from Kigali. driving to the Kayonza district in the Eastern Province of Rwanda.
The journey to Akagera National Park will reward you with planned en-route stopovers along the route. Feel free to ask your driver-guide questions about the wonderful scenery and even request photographic stopovers along the way. As you arrive at the park, you will check in to your booked safari accommodation at the lodge, order your lunch and relax before embarking on the evening Night game drive where you are rewarded with several wildlife in a calm nature. This evening you have a chance to see nocturnal wildlife species that are not easy to see during day time. Enjoy the drives. Later retire and drive back to the lodge, dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge (Meal plan: Dinner, Bed and breakfast).
Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After your breakfast, you will embark on a full day game drive in the park, visiting the Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, Lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope and many more. You will return to the hotel for lunch before you proceed with the sunset boat cruise experience where you are rewarded with sunset views and a chance to see the aquatic mammals such as hippos and crocodiles in the lake or on the shores and several bird species on Lake Ihema. Retire and drive back to the lodge, Dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge (Meal plan: Dinner, Bed and breakfast).
Your day will start early in the morning after having your breakfast. You will have your last drives around the park, today you have an opportunity to view what you may have missed the previous days. Check out and transfer to Musanze the home of Mountain Gorillas, Golden monkeys, hikes and so on. On your way going you will be having time to discover, view Rwandan Landscapes plus plains. You will meet local Rwandan people on their daily activities. You will arrive, check in and enjoy the property amenities, have your evening at leisure. Dinner and rest early preparing for the next day’s adventure.
Overnight stay at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge (Meal plan: Bed and breakfast).
You will have an early breakfast from your lodge then proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for Gorilla trekking activity and attend a pre-trek briefing where you will receive important information about the trek, safety precautions, and park regulations. After completing park formalities, we are embarking on a once in a life time experience of tracking the gentle Mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching and observing them in their natural environment. After your wonderful encounter, return to your lodge for lunch and proceed with an afternoon Cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians Village former Iby’iwacu culture village center and a non-profit umbrella organization that aims at improving the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Rwanda’s Volcanoes national park through provision of conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development and livelihood-based projects. This place is fun with lots of Rwandan history and ancient stories. Feel free to take part in their traditional dances as well. Retire and return to the lodge, have your dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge (Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast).
You will have an early breakfast from your lodge then proceed to the park headquarters once again to meet your guides for Golden Monkeys trekking activity and attend a pre-trek briefing where you will receive important information about the trek, safety precautions, and park regulations. Then you embark on the trek which takes you through the lush bamboo forests and picturesque landscapes as you search for these playful primates known for their striking fur and lively antics. Upon finding them which is usually easy, you spend approximately an enchanting one hour observing them closely in their natural habitat, then after completing your experiences, you will then be transferred back to Kigali drop off to your hotel or Depending on your flight details, drive to Kigali international Airport for your outbound flight back home.
