The tour is private and you will be using your private 4×4 safari jeep land cruiser.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport (morning arrival), our Dedicated team of Hermosa Life Tours and Travel will be at the Kigali International airport for the meet and greet assistance, clear with customs, brief you about the tour before beginning your trip. Our driver will then transfer you to Akagera National Park Home of Big 5- Game Drives. On the way enjoy Landscapes and the hills of Rwanda, en route game drives and views as you drive to the lodge, expect to see some animals such as elephants, Giraffes, lions, buffaloes etc. Check in, have your lunch at the lodge, relax a bit. Later in the afternoon, embark on the sunset boat cruise where you are rewarded with several hippos and bird species on Lake Ihema. Retire and drive back to the lodge, relax and reset. Evening at leisure plus enjoying the lodge amenities. Dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge (Meal plan: Bed and breakfast).
Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After your breakfast, have your packed lunch boxes. You will start off the day with the morning boat cruise where you are rewarded with several hippos, crocodiles and bird species on Lake Ihema. You will visit the Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, Lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope and many more. Have a stopover for your packed lunch at the picnic area. Continue with a drive straight back to Kigali. Arrival at the hotel, relax with dinner and rest.

After your early breakfast, you will embark on the 4 -5 hrs. journey to Bwindi side via Cyanika border. Upon arrival get assisted with check in and lunch at the lodge. In the late afternoon head out for a visit to the Batwa pygmy community. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi impenetrable forest but were driven away from the park to allow for mountain gorilla conservation. While with them, you learn about the difficulties they face adapting to a new world. The Batwa will entertain you with songs, dance and storytelling. Return to the lodge, leisure time. Dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge (Meal plan: Bed and breakfast).
Wake up very early and take breakfast. After breakfast, head to the park for briefing on gorilla trekking. The briefing takes place at 7:00am and is conducted by the head park guide or chief Ranger. It is compulsory to attend the briefing because to helps you prepare well and have all the relevant information you need during your time with the gorillas After the briefing, you will go into the forest to track the primates. Gorilla trekking is challenging and involves hiking deep into the forest where you will pass through thick bushy shrubs, hills, valleys and muddy ground. The final reward is watching the gorillas for one hour in the wild. After your one hour observing the gorillas is done, you should head back to the starting point to meet our guide. The Guide will take you back to lodge /hotel for lunch. Later, head out for a drive, check out and you will be transferred back to Rwanda. Prepare for a long scenic drive back to Rwanda with the beautiful country sides, great hills and valleys plus many locals along the way on their daily activities. Cross via Cyanika border and continue to your lodge in Musanze town. Arrival with check in, refreshments and evening at leisure. Have dinner and rest.

After breakfast you will proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for Golden Monkeys trekking, the activities take a full hour in the presence of the monkeys, then after completing your trekking experiences, return to the lodge for lunch, check out and head out for the cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians village the former Iby’iwacu culture village center, this is a fun village full of ancient Rwanda stories, traditional songs and dance skills, feel free to join the dancing team. After enjoying these experiences, you will be transferred back to Kigali city, depending on your plans, drive and drop off to your own pre booked hotel in the city or drive off to the Airport for your outbound flight back home.
